Fashionistas need not fear the rising tide – shoe designers have come to their rescue.
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Paris Hilton has just been paid the ultimate compliment as a Russian teenager, Anna Ivanov, has undergone cosmetic surgery to look just like her.
19-year-old- Ivanov was already nicknamed Paris by her friends for her resemblance to the socialite, but she really wanted to be like her in every detail.
“They already call me Paris Hilton. So now I want to be her. Everything. Lips, breasts and all the rest.”
The surgical procedures included plumping up her lips, breast enhancement and slimming down her waist.
In her quest to be “100%” Paris Hilton, Ivanov has forgotten that there is only one Paris Hilton, and she doesn’t live in Russia. A psychologist, Mikhail Vinogradov commented, “A wish to look like somebody else and make it happen can be seen as a mental disorder.”
Celebrity imitation is a common request from cosmetic surgery patients. A poll conducted by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery places Angelina Jolie as the celebrity with the most frequently-requested features closely followed by Julia Roberts. Rounding out the top requested celebrity features are Jennifer Lopez’s derriere, Pamela Anderson’s breasts, Nicole Kidman’s nose, and the abs of Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey.

Anyone who’s seen Japanese Anime comics or cartoons knows the over-emphasized glassy eyes that are a common characteristic with these characters. Osamu Tezuka, a Japanese Anime icon, was one of several animators who developed this style, originally to appeal to an audience of young girls.
Several companies are now manufacturing contact lenses which allow the wearer to take on the Anime look. Their sales pitch is that Anime Contact Lenses make the rest of the face look small, adding the cuteness and sex appeal prized by many Japanese men.
These are no ordinary contacts – they’re not only tinted, but tinted prominently in the extra-wide outer ring. The result is the appearance of a bigger, wider iris. To quote the sales copy, “Wanna get big, watery shiny eyes without any surgery? CRAVE AND ENVY NO MORE!”
It seems they’re not just cosmetic – send in your prescription and the lenses will be made to order.
