The Bracken cave is located in South Texas, just outside the city of San Antonio, home of the largest summer colony of bats in the world. Each year about 20 million bats migrate from Mexico to Texas to nest and raise their young ones. Every evening from March to October, these tiny creatures make their appearance in the sky, impressing all the visitors.

Millions of bats whirled as they climb into the sky and spread out in a radius of several kilometers from the cave and at high altitude for many hours fed with tons of insects, especially moths and agricultural pests. Apart from tourists and lovers of bats, a number of other creatures await their exit. The great horned owl for a delicious bat dinner, as well of raccoons and rattlesnakes.
