Our world is covered 70% by water. We can drink it, swim in it, cultivate… however, some waters in the world are extremly dangerous for our health since if you go in they will make you ill and possibly kill you! Lakes, rivers and other water volumes that you’ll see below have to be avoided by us.
Rio Tinto, Spain
From the color alone, which is red because of the iron oxides containing each of us understands how dangerous this spanish river can be, since not even fish can live in these waters. Beautiful and unusual landscape, but only from a distance!
Boiled Lake, Dominican Republic
Discovered in 1870 by two Englishmen, with temperatures ranging between 82 and 91,5 ° C. Very hot for someone to approach.
River Tualatin, Oregon
Toxic algae, deadly bacteria and germs crowd in an otherwise turquoise water that just begs for a swim.
Lake Karachay, Russia
This lake of Russia is beautiful but incredibly deadly. It is without doubt the most radioactive body of water on the planet, and there was a big dump of nuclear waste until the 1990’s.
River Belle Fourche, SD, USA
The water is not poisonous, radioactive or boiled. However it is so vehement in some points that death is certain for anyone unlucky to fall into or to be tempted to swim.
River Citarum, Indonesia
The most polluted river in the world because of the garbage thrown from more than 500 factories in the area.
River Potomac, USA
Impetuous waterfalls and strong currents sent several people to death every year, the brute warning “If you go in the river will die“ appears everywhere!
