It is the heaviest bony fish in the world, known by the scientific name mola mola, which belongs to the family molidae, but also one of the strangest fish of the ocean, because of their shape. The weight reaches more than 1,000 pounds, while the flattened shape and weird fins cause a scary picture. It is known as sunfish ocean because of the habit of lying on the water surface and sunned, the mola mola is without doubt one of the most strange fish.
Its diet includes jellyfish and exclusively endemic mainly in the Western Pacific Ocean, living exclusively in flocks. It is one of the protected marine species, and in danger of extinction due to indiscriminate fishing. In China and Japan it is a great delicacy and used in various traditional dishes, while over fishing has a significant risk of infection and seas, especially plastic bags, as they are often misled regarding them as jellyfish.
